How does it spread?
COVID-19 mainly spread from person-to-person. When a person coughs, sneezes, or talks, they release small respiratory droplets into the air. Some studies have shown that even breathing may release these droplets into the air. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of nearby individuals or may be inhaled directly. The chance of these happening decreases with distance. Prolonged close contact with others provides additional opportunities for infection. Individuals may carry COVID-19 even if they do not exhibit any symptoms.
